RE/MAX Hump Day Report 5.19.2010

What an amazing spring season, it has blown right by, literally. We are now entering a less windy although warmer part of our year. Will the real estate activity heat up as well? Here is what is going on in our company and in our industry this week.

Anyone see Rose? After last week’s party – there has been virtually no Rose Holden sightings. Hope she is doing well.

In Zip Forms there is a new form from GLVAR relating to the approval letter from lien holders in a short sale. It is a contingency removal and or additional negotiation terms that serve as joint escrow instructions as well. It is called “lender short sale approval addendum” check it out in the attachment to this email.

Just in from the NV Supreme Court…effective June 1, 2010 the foreclosure mediation program by the state of Nevada will allow BPOs for use in the mediation program. This is in addition to or in lieu of and appraisal. Pretty cool.

Our Shawn Cunningham has graciously agreed to participate in the local CRS chapter to help with the website and promotion of the CRS designation and brand. Thanks for your service Shawn. I can find work for you other CRSs as well!

Are you managing any property for non-citizens? In this week’s NARPM and Interesting obligation on behalf of the property managers to pay taxes for out of country owners who do not file and pay their taxes was revealed. Look for some more information coming from Joan in a few days.

On the property management note…The County is looking to rake anyone and everyone over the coals approved new fines for properties in an extended state of disrepair. Click on the link to read the story. Bottomline, $1000 a day is possible after 35 days, up to $10,000. This is for pools, yards, junk, broken windows – anything that might blight a neighborhood. CDPE! I am traveling with Shawn to the national conference in Tempe, AZ tomorrow to hear updates on HAFA, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, 3rd party negotiators/servicers, and network with some of the best short sale agents in the US. Got room for one more in the truck! We leave @9AM.

CDPE! Again. Later this summer CDPE will be in town for the live 2 day certification program. SFR, CSP are good education starts – this is the king. CDPE is nationally known and recognized by agents (referrals) and the default industry. Get yours, get educated, and get referrals! I got 2 listing referrals this past 7 days due to the CDPE alone.

Kudos to Iris Fields and Rebecca McKenna for becoming Five Star Certified in short sales. RE/MAX has also partnered with the Five Star Institute for short sale certification and education. Five Star is one of the biggest REO education and networking organizations in the world.
